Energy Saving Tips
Lighting
- Change your light bulbs! If every household in the USA replaced its next burned-out light bulb with a CFL light bulb, it would save the same amount of carbon dioxide as taking1.2 million cars off the road for an entire year! CFL’s last six times longer than standard incandescent versions and use 75% less energy because they use less heat than standard bulbs.
- To save electricity, always turn off the lights when you leave the room, no matter how long you’re leaving for.
- The most efficient lighting is fluorescent strip lighting, so make sure you use this wherever you can in your home. It’s particularly suited to kitchens and bathrooms.
- Dust your bulbs! Keeping your bulbs dust free could help save energy as it will increase output and so make them more efficient.
